Match Report - Sunday 25th November

25 Nov 2018 by Stacey Thomas

Only a few match reports from today, first up…..

The Osprey’s who played two entertaining games away to Ton & Gelli. A good performance from everyone especially their goal keeper Alfie Williams who scored his first goal today! Well Done Alfie!! 👏🏼

Ely Valley Hawks vs llwynypia.

Two disappointing results for the hawks today up on the ynyscynon field.

The first game started really slowly for us and we conceded a goal in the first 2 minutes. A lucky deflection put them 2-0 up just before half time. We worked hard but never really looked like scoring today! As we pushed to chase the game llwynypia managed to score a third leaving it 3-0 full time.
The second game was a lot more even and we made one or two little chances and worked hard throughout. In a tight game llwynypia managed to pinch 2 goals in the last 5 minutes which saw them take the victory 2-0.

A couple of bad results for the Hawks lately but nothing we can’t turn around on the training field and put right next Sunday.

The seniors celebrated another win yesterday against Pentre Rovers

Pentre Rovers 0-2 Ely Valley

Another win for our lads that takes us 1 point behind second with a game in hand.

Not a lot we can say about the first half other than frustrating. Many chances in the first half but we couldn’t find the net, hitting the bar multiple times.

We had to keep our heads up and push to get that goal and it came in the second half, Callum Moss got fouled in the box and Ally Carter steps up to score his 7th goal of the season.

Pentre applied pressure looking to rescue a point but a resolute defence stood strong and defending everything with some great tackling.

Late on into the half Pentre pushed men forward and it was a swift counter attack that sealed the 3 points, two of the substitutes linked up, Josh Lewis broke away and played Aaron Dyer in and at the second attempt he scores on his return to Ely Valley!

The game was settled and we kept the clean sheet which was a real positive! 4th league win on the bounce as we face another tough game next Saturday!

Credit to Pentre Rovers who are real footballing team always trying to play from the back, good luck for the season.
